Voting station near Valley Light Orphanage in Maai MahuYes, our friend John Njoroge said the line was still long after dark. Voting was to have been completed by 5 pm, but the voting station stayed open to allow those in line to vote. Voter identification required your finger prints. Since there was no electricity, the finger print voter identification machine ran on a battery, which ran out. Someone in line had a power pack for their phone and they gave it to the officials so they could charge up the finger print identification machine. The lights are from what I call camping lanterns. Kenyan’s working hard for democracy. Pretty amazing.
